Last updated 20 October 2026.
Qulok is made by Sundry Mill. This page covers Qulok for Windows, Qulok for iPhone and this website. Qulok for Windows does its work entirely on your computer.
What the app stores
- Your preferences (chosen wallpaper, toggles, and the names of apps you usually keep visible) in a small settings file in your user profile.
- A restore file listing the windows it minimised and the settings it changed, written before a session starts and deleted when you restore. It exists so a crash can be undone on the next launch.
- Your licence: the key you entered, a label for this PC and the result of the last check, in a licence file in your user profile.
What the app sends
Qulok has no account and no analytics, and nothing you work on leaves your PC. It makes two kinds of request:
- Licence checks with Polar, our merchant of record, when you enter a key and then about once a day: the key, the activation id, a label made from this PC's name, and the Qulok version.
- Update checks with qulok.com, shortly after Qulok opens and every few hours, and the download of a new version when there is one. These are ordinary web requests, logged by our host like any page view.
Payments
Purchases and subscriptions, including the 7 day free trial, are handled by Polar, which collects your email and payment details under its own privacy policy. We receive your email, what you bought, and whether you ticked the box to hear about updates.
Mac waitlist
If you leave your email in the Mac release form on this site, Sundry Mill keeps it to tell you when Qulok for Mac is out. You can ask for it to be removed at any time.
Qulok for iPhone
Qulok for iPhone has no account, no ads and no analytics of its own, and it does not track you across apps or websites.
What stays on your iPhone
- Your settings, timers, lock ins, coins, and your dog's name and things, in the app's own storage.
- Your keep list and how often the shield was shown, kept by iOS for Qulok and its Screen Time extensions. Screen Time gives Qulok sealed tokens for the apps you pick, not their names, and Qulok never sees how you use other apps.
- Break and lock in reminders, which are notifications scheduled on the phone. Nothing is pushed from a server.
What leaves your iPhone
- In-app purchases are made through Apple. We never see your card or your Apple ID. RevenueCat, the service Qulok uses to check purchases, receives your purchase history (what was bought, when, and whether a subscription is active) under a random id it makes for the app. It is used to switch Pro on and restore it, and to count sales. It is not linked to your name or email.
- A Qulok for Windows licence key, only if you type one in: the app sends the key and a random id it made up for that install to qulok.com, which checks the key with Polar. We keep a one way hash of the key and of the install id, and the time of the last check, only to count how many phones a key is used on (up to 3). The key itself is not kept. A phone's entry is deleted when you remove the licence in the app, or 30 days after its last check.
The App Store privacy label
Data not linked to you: Purchases (purchase history), used for app functionality and analytics, and Identifiers (device ID, the random install id above), used for app functionality. Neither is used for tracking. No other data is collected.
What it changes on your PC
Window state (minimise and restore), the desktop wallpaper, desktop icon visibility, the taskbar auto-hide setting if you enable that option, and the Windows notification master switch if you enable that option. Every change is reverted when you restore.
Website
This site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs (IP address, user agent, requested page) for a short period to operate the service. No advertising or tracking pixels run on this site.
